This August, as our clients prepare for the new school year, our overall focus is "Transplanting to New Soil: Carrying Our Tools to School." Just like a plant moving to a new garden bed, starting a new school year can bring a little temporary "transplant shock" in the form of jitters, new routines, and social shifts.
🔥 The Heat of the Moment
This July, our therapeutic focus shifts to "The Heat of the Moment," where clients will explore the anatomy of their impulses and learn the vital art of the emotional "cool-down." Rather than viewing challenges or mistakes as failures, your children will practice "patient reaping" and learn how to slow down after a crisis to harvest valuable life lessons from their hardships.
🌱 The Inner Garden: Transitioning from Winter Blues to April Showers
Our Monthly Intervention Topic for April discusses the “Inner Garden” metaphor. The metaphor of the ‘ Inner Garden’ helps visualize how we go through different seasons in our lives. It allows us to regulate emotion, adopt a resilience mindset, normalize sadness, and tolerate distress.
